880,000 Customers Could Be Subject to Orbitz Security Breach
Travel booking site Orbitz says its data may have been hacked during a security breach. Hackers could have accessed data from 880,000 customers who used the site between January 1, 2016-June 22, 2016 and October 1, 2017-December 22, 2017. The breach could potentially include names, addresses, birthdays, gender, and credit card numbers.
Orbitz says hackers might have accessed this information but clarifies that “to date, we do not have direct evidence that this personal information was actually taken from the platform.” Orbitz doesn’t believe social security, passport, or travel itinerary information was obtained. Keep an eye on your credit card statements for fraudulent charges.
