Access Etihad’s Residence Lounge in New York (JFK) for $40
Etihad offers a product one step above First Class, called the Residence. It’s a three-bedroom suite on an A380 consisting of a bedroom, living room, and a private bathroom (with your own private shower inside). Passengers flying the Residence have access to Etihad’s private Residence lounges.
Etihad started selling access to the Residence lounge in Melbourne for $31 a couple weeks ago. The airline is now selling access the Residence lounge in New York (JFK) for $40. Any passenger with access to Etihad’s First & Business Class lounge can pay to “upgrade” to the Residence lounge. Etihad put out the following statement:
You can also upgrade to our VIP Room for an additional $40 for you and your family. This is a completely private area, where you can have a bite to eat, rest or simply enjoy time together before your flight. Our New York lounge opens three hours prior to flight departures. Lounge access and use of the VIP Room are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You can pay at the lounge on the day by using credit card or Etihad Guest Miles.
This won’t come with butler service or select premium food and drinks, which travelers receive when actually flying the Residence. You’re just paying for the large private space. Would you pay $40 for this private space?
