Alaska Air & Aer Lingus to Announce Partnership Before May
Ireland based Aer Lingus will begin flying between Dublin and Seattle on May 18, 2018. The airline will soon be partnering with Alaska Airlines to help it expand in the West Coast market The companies plan on making a formal announcement before May. Aer Lingus has a similar partnership with East Coast based JetBlue.
This has several positive implications. Customers booking flights through Alaska Airlines will be able to book connecting flights to Aer Lingus’s European destinations. Customers booking through Aer Lingus will be able to book connecting flights to Alaska’s US destinations. Travelers will also be able to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles across both loyalty programs.
This is great news for flyers as we’ll have easier connection opportunities and more options to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles. I got to fly Aer Lingus Business Class from Dublin to Boston last Fall and thoroughly enjoyed the product. The seats were very comfortable and the food was excellent.
