American Airlines is Flying to Iceland Starting Next Summer

Article By:

While Icelandic budget airlines like WOW Air and Norwegian have been rapidly expanding into the U.S. over the past several years, very few major airlines have started flights to Iceland. Delta is the only U.S. carrier flying to Iceland year round, with United set to launch seasonal flights beginning summer 2018.

American Airlines announced this morning that it will begin flying from Dallas (DFW) to Reykjavik, Iceland (KEF) beginning June 7, 2018. The flight will be operated by a Boeing 757-200 aircraft with 176 seats divided into Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class. Business Class will have fully lie-flat seats and premium passengers will receive their respective new Casper bedding.

You can book flights beginning November 20, 2017 for travel between June 7, 2018-October 27, 2018. Flights will operate three times a week. American’s VP of Network & Schedule Planning said:

“Reykjavik has become a very popular leisure destination and we look forward to giving our customers the opportunity to experience Iceland’s unique landscape of geysers, volcanoes and hot springs with our new direct service next summer”
