Chase Ultimate Rewards Adds Two New Transfer Partners
There are four major U.S. loyalty programs which offer reward points which can be transferred to various airline and hotel partners. These are Starwood Preferred Guest, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou and American Express Membership Rewards. These are the ideal points to hold long-term as they offer tremendous flexibility. Chase Ultimate Rewards just got even more valuable by adding another two transfer partners today
You can now transfer points from Chase to Iberia and Aer Lingus at a 1:1 ratio. With this change, Chase now has 13 airline and hotel transfer partners. That said, it was already possible to convert Chase points to Aer Lingus and Iberia Avios through a roundabout method. You could do this by transferring points from Chase to British Airways Executive Club, and then transferring from British to Aer Lingus or Iberia at the same 1:1 ratio. The only downside was that your British Airways account had to be at least 90 days old and have some points earning transactions. Now you can just move points directly from Chase to Aer Lingus and Iberia without the hassle.
Both these programs offer value to traveling with miles and points. For example, one-way Business Class flights on Aer Lingus between Europe and the East Coast cost between 50,000-60,000 miles. One-way Business Class flights on Iberia between Europe and the East Coast cost between 34,000-50,000 miles one-way. 34,000 points for a one-way Business Class flight is ridiculously cheap.
