Anytime we see business class fares for around $1,000 each way, it’s generally a good deal (depending on the airline). Today we’re seeing roundtrip fares between Toronto and Shanghai and Toronto and Beijing for about $1,700 in business class! The flights are operated by a combination of United and Air Canada and availability is wide open right now.

I’d first check Google Flights to find the travel dates and routes that best fit your schedule. Once you know your flights, I’d recommend booking directly with the airline (United or Air Canada). I generally avoid third-party booking sites like Expedia or Orbitz because if anything goes wrong with your flight (think delays or changes you have to make), airlines will typically not help you and send you back to your booking site to process your request. And you usually have to pay change fees to your booking site on top of what the airline charges.

These fares look to be valid for outbound travel through May 12, 2017 and the minimum stay requirement is three days. Note that United Polaris seats haven’t launched on these routes yet, so you’re getting the old United business class seat but with the new Polaris on-board service (better food, amenities, etc.) However, the first Polaris lounge has already opened in Chicago (ORD). If you route one these flights through Chicago, you’ll be able to try out one of the best lounges in the US!

Final Thoughts

This is a great price for business class to China. The long-haul flights alone are going to be around 13 hours! If you want to visit China and can afford a $1,700 roundtrip ticket, I’d jump on this deal as these prices will disappear fast. If I were to book this, I’d make sure to fly through Chicago on one of the segments to check-out the new Polaris lounge, and I’d try to get on as many Air Canada operated flights as I can as I prefer Air Canada’s hard product over United’s.
