Delta Improving Economy Meal Presentation and Pillows
Delta announced a series of improvements to its Main Cabin (Economy Class) service today, set to rollout in phases starting in November 2017. The airline will start by introducing “customer experience menu cards” next month. This will inform passengers about the timing of service throughout the flight and provide details about inflight food and beverage options. Delta will introduce upgraded cutlery in the Main Cabin to go along with this.
In mid-2018, Delta will launch “upgraded meals and new serviceware” on international long-haul flights. This will feature redesigned trays and upgraded serviceware. A Delta executive said, “Investing in our serviceware and cutlery onboard to enhance the overall presentation and functionality of our meals is a big part of our culinary strategy.”
Finally, Delta is upgrading the Main Cabin and Comfort+ pillows on international long-haul flights. The US airline has been making a lot of investments in the customer experience lately. It recently introduced free in-flight texting on all Gogo enabled aircraft along with free Prosecco in Economy Class on international flights. It’s always nice to see a US airline making positive customer enhancements for a change.
