Earn Hotel Points for Using OpenTable and GrubHub
IHG is partnering with OpenTable and GrubHub to reward members who book restaurant reservations or order food through its platforms. IHG is the loyalty program of InterConinental, Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, Even Hotels, Hualuxe, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge, and Candlewood hotels. OpenTable is a platform which allows you to book restaurant reservations online. GrubHub is an online food delivery service.
IHG members can now book OpenTable reservations for restaurants in the United States through IHG’s website, app, and Connect. This is expanding to the U.K. and Australia by the end of 2017. You must book the OpenTable reservation through IHG’s channels in order to receive the points.
IHG members will earn 500 IHG Rewards points for their first completed OpenTable reservation. Each subsequent reservation will earn 300 points for dining at an IHG hotel or 150 points for dining at any other restaurant.
IHG members will earn 500 Rewards points the first time they place a GrubHub order through IHG channels and 250 points for all subsequent GrubHub orders. You must place your GrubHub order through IHG in order to receive the points and only orders placed during an IHG stay will earn bonus points.
While you have to be staying at IHG to earn points via GrubHub, you can earn points from OpenTable reservations even when you’re not staying at IHG and not dining at IHG restaurants. That said, IHG points aren’t terribly valuable so I wouldn’t jump through any hoops to do advantage of this.
