Earn up to 20% Back on Hotels.com with Venture Cards
Capital One and Hotels.com have partnered up to make travel a lot more rewarding. Capital One just announced that customers with the Venture or VentureOne credit card will earn 10x ‘miles’ per $1 on eligible hotels booked through Hotels.com/Venture.
Both the Venture and VentureOne card are cash back cards. Cardholders can redeem Venture ‘miles’ at a rate of 1 cent per mile towards a statement credit against travel expenses. This means cardholders will essentially earn 10% cash back on Hotels.com bookings. All you have to do is book a hotel through Hotels.com/Venture and pay with one of these two credit cards. The promotion is valid through January 31, 2020.
The bonus Venture miles are in addition to Hotels.com’s existing loyalty program. Hotels.com’s loyalty program gives customers one free night for every 10 nights they stay. The value of the free night is the average price of the 10 previous stayed nights. For example, if you book 10 stays for $100 each, you’ll get a $100 stay for free.
The beauty really kicks in when you combine the Venture credit card rewards with the Hotels.com loyalty program. You get 10% cash back through the credit card and an additional 10% credit (after 10 stays) towards a stay through the loyalty program, netting you a 20% return per $1 spent. That’s an incredible value.
This is a great option for travelers who don’t care much about top tier elite status and want flexibility when booking hotels. The only downside of booking rooms through a third party travel agency is you won’t get stay credits towards elite status at hotel chains like Marriott, Starwood, Hilton, Hyatt etc. Frequent travelers may value elite perks like free breakfast, suite upgrades, dedicated check-in lines, late checkout etc. over a 20% discount-but that’s a personal decision you’ll have to make for yourself.
