First United Polaris Routes Coming February 2017
Straight to the Point
The first United flight with the new Polaris seat is flying February 15, 2017 from Newark (EWR) to San Francisco (SFO) and is already bookable!
Polaris is United’s new business class cabin and service (both in air and on the ground) that’s in the process of being implemented. United just opened its first Polaris lounge in Chicago several weeks ago and has already launched it Polaris soft product (new menus, new food and drink options, new amenity kits, new business and first class bedding etc). You can find my full United Polaris overview here. Now, as per a new Press Release, United has finally announced the dates and routes of its first flights with the actual Polaris seat.
- United will begin rolling out its Polaris cabin on its brand-new Boeing 777-300ER. The airline currently has 14 of these planes on order, and it expects to start flying all of them in 2017. Once the new planes are airborne, United will begin retrofitting its other aircraft currently flying internationally with its new Polaris seats.
- The first Polaris route will be between Newark (EWR) and San Francisco (SFO), flying from February 15-May 4 2017.
- The second route will be between San Francisco (SFO) and Hong Kong (HKG), beginning March 25, 2017.
- Both routes are currently bookable, so if you want to be one of the first to experience the new Polaris seat, now’s the time to buy.
Based on what I’ve seen so far about Polaris, it looks like a great business class product-and much, much, much better than the sad excuse for a business class seat United is currently operating on its international routes. I’m exciting to try it out for myself!
