How to Book St. Regis Bora Bora, Maldives, and more for Just 48K Marriott Points

Article By:

Marriott is still working on merging its Marriott, Starwood Preferred Guest, and Ritz-Carlton reward programs. We got our first details of what the unified loyalty program would look like back in April. Marriott said there will be eight award categories. Top-tier hotels will be capped at 85,000 points for a “standard room” and there will be peak and off-peak award pricing. You can take a look at the new award chart below.

Here’s the good news-those category 8 tiers don’t go into effect until sometime in 2019. This means from the time these programs merge (August 2018) until the new tiers are live (early 2019) Marriott’s best hotels will be priced at just 60,000 points per night! The price drops even lower to only 48,000 points per night if you book five consecutive nights (Marriott gives you one night free when you book four nights).

You should book Marriott’s highest priced hotels at the new rates as soon as they’re available (August) and before the category 8 pricing goes into effect in 2019.  You can find the complete list of Marriott, SPG, and Ritz-Carlton award prices here. For example, you can book incredible hotels like the St. Regis Bora Bora, the St. Regis Maldives, the Prince de Galles Paris and many more for a measly 48,000 points per night! You can book these awards up to 50 weeks in advance of check-in.

If you’re short on Marriott points, remember that SPG points will be automatically converted to Marriott at a 1:3 ratio in August. You can also transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio.
