How to Redeem JetBlue Miles for Free Hawaiian Airlines Flights
JetBlue currently has seven airline partners-Emirates, Hawaiian, Icelandair, JetSuiteX, Silver, Singapore, and South African airways. While you can earn JetBlue Trueblue miles by flying all these airline, you can only redeem TrueBlue miles for JetBlue or Hawaiian operated flights. JetBlue previously had no official published award chart for Hawaiian redemptions-you had to call and find out how many miles a certain award booking would cost. JetBlue has finally published a Hawaiian airlines award chart!
These charts represent how many JetBlue TrueBlue miles it costs to book one-way award tickets in Economy and Business class on Hawaiian airlines. You still can’t book the actual ticket online though. You need to call 1-800-JETBLUE to book the award.
If you have the JetBlue Plus or Business credit card, you get a 10% refund on award redemptions. For example, if you book a Hawaiian Airlines Business Class flight from the West Coast to Hawaii for 45,000 TrueBlue miles, 4,500 miles will be deposited in your account within 4-6 weeks.
While I love flying JetBlue domestically, I don’t like the TrueBlue frequent flyer program because you can only redeem miles for travel on JetBlue and Hawaiian airlines. Redeeming for travel on JetBlue doesn’t represent a particularly compelling value either since redemption prices are tied to the price of a cash ticket. I’d love to see JetBlue offer partner redemptions on more airlines.
