Iran Air Just Appointed its First Ever Female CEO
Since the US lifted sanctions on Iran back in 2015, Iran Air has been buying up brand new Airbus jets to replace and revamp its ageing fleet of aircraft. As part of a host of changes coming to the airline, it looks like Iran just appointed its first ever female CEO.
The Independent and the Tehran Times are reporting that Farzaneh Sharafbani, 44, will be Iran Air’s newest CEO. She also happens to be the first Iranian woman with a PhD in aerospace. There aren’t a whole lot of female CEO’s in general, so it’s especially interesting to see one lead a national airline in a country like Iran. Congratulations to Ms. Sharafbani on the new job.
