Lufthansa Named Europe’s First Five Star Airline
Skytrax is a UK based agency which reviews and ranks airlines. It conducts its own research as well as passenger surveys to rate various aspects of the flying experience, like the airline’s lounge, in-flight entertainment, customer service, seat confort, security measures, etc. Lufthansa just became the first airline outside of Asia, and one of only 10 airlines in the world, to receive a five star Skytrax certification.
While Lufthansa has been recognized as Europe’s best airline in the past and has received a five star rating for its First Class, this award recognizes the entire airline. Lufthansa’s Chairman of the Board said:
“Everyone at Lufthansa can be proud of this certification, especially our colleagues in the cabins and cockpits and on the ground who fulfil our premium promise every day in their interactions with our passengers. I am convinced that the most important factor in getting the fifth star was that we have the best airline employees.”
I personally love Lufthansa and it’s typically my go to airline when traveling internationally. My favorite aspects are the airline’s lounges, its First-Class cabins, its reliability, and most of all, its service. Flight attendants working in Economy all the way through First Class consistently provide excellent service. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been disappointed.
My only issue with Lufthansa is the Business Class cabin. The seats are vastly outdated at this point and need a refresh. The airline’s new Business Class looks wonderful, but they won’t start installing it until 2020.
