Munich Airport is Testing a Humanoid Robot
Keep your eyes open for a humanoid robot roaming around the airport if you’re flying through Munich (MUC). Munich Airport and Lufthansa are introducing a robot named Josie Pepper to “walk” around Terminal 2 and answer passenger questions. Josie is programed to help passengers find their gate or direct them to a certain shop or restaurant.
This is the first artificial intelligence equipped humanoid robot deployed at a German airport. (Let’s hope it’s not sentient). Josie measures 120 centimeters tall and can speak fluent English. She supposedly learns how to combine questions and answers better over time, aka she can learn. I’d love to hear if anyone has interacted with her!
