New Partnership Between Alaska Airlines and Condor Announced
Alaska Airlines and German low-cast carrier Carrier announced a new partnership today. Customer flying Condor airlines can enter their Alaska Mileage Plan number on their ticket and earn Alaska award miles, which also count towards elite status. The number of miles you earn depends on which cabin you’re booking. Here’s the earning chart:
You can also earn Condor miles when you fly Alaska, but that doesn’t make much sense if you’re a US based flyer 😉 Condor is based in Frankfurt and flies nonstop to many US destinations including Seattle, San Diego, Las Vegas, Portland, Anchorage, and more. You can take connecting Condor flights to many destinations throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle-East.
Keep in mind that since Condor is a low-cost airline, the tickets are generally cheap but you have to pay extra for everything like seat assignments, checked bags, etc. if you’re flying economy.
Alaska Airlines also announced that it would be allowing award booking on Condor “soon”. Alaska already has a great frequent flyer program with 17 airline partners. Adding another partner is great for customers as we’ll get even more flexibility with our Alaska miles. As a reminder, you can earn Alaska miles by flying any of its airline partners, opening an Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card, or by transferring points from Starwood Preferred Guest.
