Last month we wrote about how Norwegian Air was offering $65 one-way flights between the US and Europe on ten routes this summer. Today Norwegian announced two new routes between the US and Europe starting at $89 one-way.
The new flights start July 1, 2017 and are already bookable online. The first route is between
Newburgh, NY (SWF)-Bergen, Norway (BGO). Norwegian will fly this route on Thursdays and Sundays. The second route is between Providence, RI (PVD)-Bergen, Norway (BGO). Norwegian will fly this route on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Like the new routes announced last month, these are also operated by new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Thomas Ramdahl, the chief commercial officer of Norwegian, said the following:
“We are pleased to launch these two new routes from New York and Rhode Island to Bergen so that thousands of Americans and Norwegians can fly cheaply and comfortably between the east coast of the United States and the west coast of Norway,”
If you’re interested in booking these fares I’d book ASAP. This is an introductory rate and won’t last long. There’s already limited availability in July with more dates qualifying for the $89 fares in the Fall. Finally, remember that even though the ticket price is insanely cheap, Norwegian charges for just about everything. So if you want to bring any bags with you, eat, drink, or have a couple inches of extra legroom-you’re going to be paying extra.
