Pegasus Plane Skids off Turkish Runway, Almost Plunges into Black Sea
A Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft flying from Ankara to Trabzon almost plunged into the Black Sea on Saturday. The flight skidded off the runway as it was landing Saturday night and ended up nose down on the side of a cliff, just feet from the Sea. Somehow none of the 168 passengers and crew were hurt. Here’s an aerial view of what it looked like:
One of the passengers on board reported “We tilted to the side, the front was down while the plane’s rear was up. There was panic; people shouting, screaming.” Authorities haven’t determined the cause of the accident yet. Trabzon airport has been reopened after it was initially closed for a few hours. Scary stuff.
