Premium Passengers on Qatar Airways can now Pre-Order their Meals
Qatar remains one of the world’s best airlines and is beginning to install its brand new Qsuite Business Class seats, offering features like a double bed, sliding doors, and a four person ‘living room’. Qatar’s making its premium flying experience even better today by allowing passengers to pre-select their meals up to 14 days before flying.
Per a press release, passengers in First and Business class flying on select long-haul routes from Doha to Europe, North and South America, Australia, and New Zealand will be able to order their main course ahead of time online or through the Qatar Airways app. While it’s nice that they’re giving customers more flexibility here, this isn’t exactly a game changer.
You’ll have the same menu options as you would on board the aircraft. Several top airlines already let you order ahead of time. For example, I pre-ordered poached eggs and hash browns for breakfast on my Singapore Airlines Business Class flight. Singapore’s ‘Book the Cook’ option is actually better than Qatar’s, as it offer entrees online that aren’t available in-flight.
Will you take the time to pre-order your meal on Qatar Business or First Class when the same food is available onboard? I personally enjoy the experience of perusing the menu at 40,000 feet and don’t see much value in ordering ahead of time in this case.
