Qantas Announces Melbourne-San Francisco Dreamliner Coming in 2018

Qantas took delivery of its first of eight Boeing 787 Dreamliner in October. The airline wants to use these jets to fly longer distances and open up new markets for travel to Australia. They just began their first Dreamliner service from Melbourne (MEL)- Los Angeles (LAX) today. As part of that celebration, the airline announced another new Dreamliner route!

Economy Class

Qantas will start flying a 787 from Melbourne (MEL)- San Francisco (SFO) in “late 2018” with tickets set to go on sale in “early 2018”. Qantas will alternate daily flights between Melbourne to Los Angeles and San Francisco to make sure there’s enough capacity on the flights.

Business Class

The Dreamliners can seat 236 passengers in Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class.
