Qantas’s Beautiful London Lounge is Opening Today
Qantas is officially opening its lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3 today. The airline spent 12 months building the lounge in preparation for the launch of its coming London-Australia flights. Qantas flyers in Business and First Class, Qantas Platinum One/Platinum/Gold frequent flyers, Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire customers, Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members, and Qantas Club members can access the lounge. The airline had previously released few details about what it would look like, but we have a lot more info today.
The two story lounge can seat 230 guests and offers spaces to work and relax. Travelers can enjoy expansive views of the airfield while waiting for their flight. The lounge takes inspiration from its setting in London, highlighting deep green and blue interiors with wood, stone, and brass highlights.
The upper level has a marble cocktail bar serving cocktails, Australian wine & beer, and European wine & beer.
The lower level has a dedicated gin bar serving Australian and British gin. It also has all-day barista service.
Travelers can enjoy an a la cart menu in the dining room as well as a hot and cold buffet. Some initial a la carte items include:
- British dishes like ploughman’s platters, pot pies, and scones with jam and cheese
- Australian dishes like brunch bowls with eggs, avocado and kale, and zucchini & ham fritters
- Salt and pepper squid with green chili from Qantas’s First Class lounge
The lounge has six shower suites with Aurora Spa amenities. This bathroom looks gorgeous (and huge).
Qantas will operate three flights to London, with the first route launching on Mach 25, 2018. There will be a daily Sydney-Singapore-London flight on the A380, a daily Melbourne-Perth-London flight on the 787, and daily flights to London via Dubai with partner Emirates.
