Qantas revealed that it would start flying a Boeing 787 Dreamliner between Melbourne-San Francisco about a month ago, though we didn’t have any details on when service would start or what the schedule would look like. The airline gave us all the details in a press release yesterday.

Service will begin on September 1, 2018 and flights are already bookable online. Qantas will run 4X flight per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with the following flight times:

  • QF49 departs Melbourne (MEL) at 9:40PM, arrives in San Francisco (SFO) at 7:00PM
  • QF50 departs San Francisco (SFO) at 10:00 PM, arrives in Melbourne (MEL) at 6:30AM (+2 days)

As a refresher, Qantas’s new Dreamliners have 236 seats laid out in Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class. It’s great to see Australia’s flag carrier adding more routes to the United States and making getting to the land down under a bit easier.
