Singapore Air Awards are Now Bookable Online through United

Article By:

Singapore Airlines is one of the best airlines in the world and has an incredibly comfortable Business and First class product. While Singapore does make limited award space available to partner airlines, this is restricted to Economy award space in most cases. You could easily book these awards online at United.com a few years ago, until United decided to pull online bookings for Singapore Airlines. Well it looks like online bookings for the Asian carrier are now available again through United.com.

Singapore has a fairly restrictive policy when it comes to releasing premium award space to partner airlines. On long-haul flights, you’ll typically only be able to book Economy Class awards through United and other Star Alliance partners. Singapore does release Business Class award seats on its shorter flights within Asia. So you’ll now be able to book those flights online through United.

For example, you can now book a flight from Tokyo to Guanzhou (operated by ANA) which connects to Singapore (operated by Singapore Air). It’s great that these awards can be booked online again, as it saves the headache of having to call United and walk the agent through the booking process. Since long-haul premium cabin awards are still not available to partner airlines, Singapore KrisFlyer remains the way to book those award seats.
