Targeted: AMEX Offering 100K Point Sign-Up Bonus for Platinum Card
Creditcards.com offers a tool called CardMatch which can offer higher than normal credit card sign-up offers. You have to enter your name, address, and the last four digits of your social to see your targeted sign-up offers from various credit card companies. CardMatch was offering targeted users a 100,000 point sign-up offer on the Platinum Card from American Express a few months ago.
It looks like this offer is back. Targeted users who are approved for the Platinum Card through the CardMatch link can earn 100,000 American Express Membership Rewards points after spending $5,000 in the first thee months of account opening. This is much better than the non-targeted 60,000 point sign-up bonus after spending $5,000 in the first three months of account opening.
It makes sense to check CardMatch to see if you’re eligible before you apply for the standard offer. The website says that a soft credit check will be performed, but it won’t affect your credit score. You might end up not being targeted, but there isn’t much downside to checking!
