Twelfth Centurion Lounge is Likely Coming to Los Angeles (LAX)
American Express currently operates Centurion lounges in Seattle (SEA), San Francisco (SFO), Las Vegas (LAS), Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH), Miami (MIA), Philadelphia (PHL), LaGuardia (LGA), and Hong Kong (HKG). It’s tenth lounge is expected to open in New York (JFK) in early 2019 and its eleventh location is expected to open in Denver (DEN) sometime in 2019 as well.
We have out first solid evidence that Amex is planning a twelfth location at Los Angeles (LAX). The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners has apparently approved a lounge lease to American Express. The lease indicates that the 13,693 square foot Centurion lounge will be housed in the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
The 10 year lease will cost American Express $2.8 million the first year and total $33.4 million over 10 years. There’s still a few more steps to go through before it becomes official, but Board approval means it’s likely to happen. As a reminder, travelers with the Platinum Card or Centurion Card from American Express (and their guests) can enter these lounges.
