United’s Polaris Lounge Expansion is Delayed for the Third Time

Article By:

United opened its first Polaris lounge at Chicago (ORD) in December 2016, in conjunction with launching its new Polaris Business Class seats and service. I loved my experience with the Polaris lounge found it rivals what many great international airlines offer on the ground. United has announced plans to open nine more Polaris lounges around the world.

The airline was originally set to open locations in San Francisco (SFO) and Newark (EWR) by the end of 2017. First it got pushed back to ‘Early 2018’. Then it got delayed to ‘Starting in 2018’.

United has now eliminated the timetables altogether and just shows ‘Future locations.’ San Francisco (SFO), Newark (EWR), and Houston (IAH) are marked as under construction. They’ve been theoretically working on the San Francisco and Newark lounge for over a year at this point. Does it really take this long to build a lounge? As always, patience is key when it comes to airlines.
