What to do at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Article By:

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special ticketed event in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on select nights between August 25-November 1, 217.  I was there during the August 31st party (I know, Halloween in August is too early). Prices range from $74-$115 (it gets more expensive closer to Halloween night). This ticket is different from regular park admission tickets. Halloween party tickets allow you to enter Magic Kingdom at 4:00 PM, and the party itself runs from 7:00PM-Midnight. Here’s some of the spooktacular activities available:

Characters

There’s special meet-and-greet locations setup throughout Magic Kingdom where you can take photos with characters only available on party nights. Some examples include Jafar, Cruella Devil, the Seven Dwarfs, Lotso, Jack Skellington, Sally, and more! Highly sought after characters can command long lines, so be prepared.

Costumes

You’ll see lots of guests, both adults and children, dressed up for the party. So go ahead and throw on your scariest Halloween costume. Just leave your fake weapons at home, as they’re not allowed.

Trick-or Treat

You’ll find marked locations throughout the park with giant bins of candy. The candy lines move fast, so hop in and grab your share of sweets!

Halloween Desserts

Many quick-service restaurants will sell special desserts only available on party nights. Some examples include Candy Corn ice cream, ‘Worms and Dirt’, Haunted Mansion inspired chocolate tarts, and the Jack Skellington cake/push-pop above.

Short Attraction Lines

Because this is a ticketed event, there’s far less people in the park than usual. That means shorter lines for popular attractions like Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Space Mountain etc. If you didn’t get a fastpass earlier, this is a perfect opportunity to enjoy rides without spending hours in line!

Boo-to-You Halloween Parade

This is Disney’s Halloween parade! After the Headless Horseman rides down main street, you’ll see spooky floats, dancing skeletons, and villains charging down through the park.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular

The Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus come back to life for one night to wreak havoc on Magic Kingdom in this musical stage performance. Other guest villains include Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, and Maleficent. This is one of the best Disney shows and I highly recommend seeing it!

Happy HalloWishes Fireworks

Finish off your Halloween night with a classic Disney fireworks show. There’s special Halloween music, fireworks, and a spooky projection show on Cinderella’s castle.
